A Paseo alternative with flows, checks and a team kanban
Paseo is a free, open-source (Apache-2.0) agentic development environment, maintained full time by one developer. A local server called the daemon runs your agents, and the desktop, web, iOS and Android apps and a CLI all connect to it, so you can start work at your desk and check in from your phone; the mobile apps are full clients, not just a remote view. It runs many agents at once, each optionally in its own git worktree, with an editor, terminals, diffs, pull requests and a browser in split panes, and agents can start and message other agents. AgentVera runs agent CLIs in real terminals side by side, and adds flows, acceptance checks and team tools. Below is how they differ and where Paseo is the better fit.
Paseo and AgentVera side by side
| Feature | Paseo | AgentVera |
|---|---|---|
| Platforms | Desktop apps for macOS 13 or later (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows (x64 and ARM64) and Linux (AppImage, .deb, .rpm); a web app; native iOS and Android apps; a CLI daemon for servers, Docker and Nix. | macOS, Windows and Linux desktop app. |
| Supported agents | Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, Pi, Antigravity and Muse Code built in, plus a catalog of ACP agents such as Cursor, Gemini CLI, goose, Grok and Hermes. | 18 CLI coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot, Cursor Agent, opencode, Amp and Aider, plus plain terminals. Each uses its own CLI install and login. |
| Open source / license | Open source, Apache-2.0 (third-party parts keep their own licenses). | Closed source. |
| Pricing model | Free. The optional Paseo Hub, which starts agents from GitHub, Slack and Discord, can be self-hosted or used hosted: free for 50 runs a month, or Pro at $15 per seat a month. | Free plan with unlimited agents; Pro and Team plans are paid. |
| Git worktrees | Yes. A task can start in its own git worktree and branch; paseo.json sets up scripts, terminals and services per worktree, and agents can create worktrees themselves. | Yes. Create a worktree per task from the Git panel and start an agent in it; night-shift tasks get their own worktree. You are warned when two agents edit the same file. |
| Kanban | not confirmed | Team kanban shared across your organization; hand a card to Claude, Codex or another agent and the reply lands on the card (Pro and Team). |
| Flows and pipelines between agents | Agents can create worktrees, launch other agents and message them across providers; schedules start agents on a timer, and Hub triggers start them from GitHub, Slack or Discord. | Flows pass one agent’s output to the next; a team view of open agents led by a manager; a parallel team that ends in one PR; staged task line; night shift (Pro and Team). |
| Acceptance checks | not confirmed | Verify extracts acceptance criteria from your request and a separate read-only verifier checks each one after the agent’s turn; automatic code review. |
| Database manager / SSH | The desktop app and CLI reach a daemon on another machine over SSH, the Paseo relay or Tailscale; we did not find a database manager. | Database manager for PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB and SQLite (Pro and Team); SSH/SFTP panel; agent SSH and database access with your rules. |
| Token savings | not confirmed | Context profiles, automatic /compact, bundled RTK output compression, automatic per-task model routing and a project map (code graph) for agents. |
| Team features | Paseo Hub Pro gives a team the same projects, workflows and activity; sharing settings and skills across a team is listed as planned. | Organizations, team kanban, client boards, AgentVera Runner on your own server, automatic account switching. |
A dash means we could not confirm the feature on Paseo’s own pages. It may exist or arrive later; check their site.

- You want a team kanban, automatic account switching at a limit, a database manager and an SSH/SFTP panel in the same app.
Moving from Paseo to AgentVera
- Download AgentVera and open the projects you use in Paseo.
- Add Claude Code, Codex, Copilot or opencode. AgentVera starts the CLIs you already installed, so your logins and subscriptions carry over.
- Paseo worktrees are ordinary git worktrees: open them from the Git panel, or merge and remove them first.
- To follow agents away from your desk, use the AgentVera mobile app or Telegram; to run them on a server, install AgentVera Runner there.
