Real terminals on ConPTY
Every agent runs in a real terminal session on Windows’ ConPTY layer. Claude Code’s own interface, slash commands, colors and scrollback look the way they do in Windows Terminal.
Most parallel coding agent tools were built for the Mac. Conductor has no Windows version, only a waitlist; Superset (now Paradev) and Sculptor don’t run on Windows either; Claude Squad needs tmux, so it won’t start on native Windows. AgentVera runs natively on Windows: it opens Claude Code, Codex and 16 more coding agents side by side, each in its own real terminal, in one grid per project, without installing WSL.
Per their official pages as of November 2026. The agents themselves (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI) now run natively on Windows; what’s missing is a tool to manage them together.
| Tool | macOS | Windows | Linux | Agents |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AgentVera | Yes | Yes, native | Yes | 18 CLI agents |
| Conductor | Yes | No (waitlist) | No | Claude Code, Codex, Cursor |
| Paradev (Superset) | Yes | No | Experimental | CLI agents |
| Sculptor | Apple Silicon | No | Yes | Claude Code, Codex |
| Claude Squad | Yes | WSL only (tmux) | Yes | CLI agents |
| Nimbalyst (Crystal) | Yes | Yes | Yes | Claude Code, Codex |
| Claude desktop app | Yes | Yes | Beta | Claude only |
Platform support changes often; check each tool’s own page before you decide.

On Windows, npm installs shims like claude.cmd and codex.cmd, and cmd.exe re-parses every argument. AgentVera reads the shim and starts the script inside it directly, so JSON settings and roles with &, | or % arrive intact.
A Terminal agent opens PowerShell 7 if it’s installed, then Windows PowerShell, then cmd.exe set to UTF-8. If the SHELL variable points to a program such as Git Bash, that wins.
Most parallel agent tools need tmux, and tmux doesn’t exist on Windows. In AgentVera agents sit side by side in a grid from 1×1 to 5×4, with status, context size and approval requests on every pane.
Open a worktree from the Git panel and start the agent right in it. Two agents never edit the same files; you review the changes line by line and merge.
If your project lives on a Linux server, connect with Windows’ own OpenSSH and run the agent there. The shortest way to pair a Windows laptop with a Linux build box.
Download the x64 installer and run it. It isn’t signed with a Microsoft certificate yet, so in the SmartScreen prompt click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. Later versions download in the background.
Run the PowerShell command for your agent from the table below. When AgentVera finds an agent missing, it shows the same command itself.
Pick your folder and add agents to the grid. Each agent uses its own login: your Claude Pro/Max or ChatGPT plan works as is, no API key needed.
All of these run in PowerShell without WSL. The ones installed with npm need Node.js. Git for Windows is now optional for Claude Code: with it, shell commands run in Git Bash; without it, in PowerShell.

Both work; it depends on your project. AgentVera starts the Windows commands it finds on PATH; you can open an agent that lives inside WSL from a Terminal agent with wsl.
For .NET, C#, Unity, Windows desktop apps and projects whose code lives on the C: drive. Shortest setup, fastest file access, and AgentVera’s agent-specific features such as session resume and account switching work fully.
For Docker-heavy projects, shell scripts or tools that only run on Linux. Keep the code on the Linux file system (~/code); working through /mnt/c is noticeably slower. Claude Code’s sandbox only works in WSL 2.
Yes. AgentVera runs natively on Windows and opens 18 coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI, side by side in one grid per project. Each runs in its own real terminal and, if you like, its own git worktree.
Not as of November 2026. Conductor runs on macOS only and keeps a waitlist for Windows and Linux. To run Claude Code and Codex in parallel on Windows, AgentVera and Nimbalyst run natively.
No. Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI and the rest run natively in PowerShell, and so does AgentVera. WSL is optional, for projects that need Linux tooling.
Not on native Windows, because it’s built on tmux and tmux has no Windows version. You can run it inside WSL. AgentVera manages agents in its own grid without tmux.
There’s only an x64 installer for now. It runs on Windows on ARM devices through x64 emulation.
No. AgentVera’s free plan is the same on Windows, macOS and Linux. Pro features such as account switching and flows come with a 7-day free trial.
Download, pick a project, open your first agent. Your installed CLIs are ready to go.
