A T3 Code alternative with flows and a team kanban
T3 Code, from the team behind T3 Chat, calls itself an agent harness control surface: a free, MIT-licensed app that drives the agents installed on your machine, such as Claude Code and Codex, through one chat-style interface. It runs as an Electron desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux, as a web app, and from iOS and Android apps, and it is built for remote use: run it on a server and connect from anywhere. Its README calls it very early. AgentVera runs agent CLIs in real terminals side by side, and adds flows, acceptance checks and team tools. Below is how they differ and where T3 Code is the better fit.
T3 Code and AgentVera side by side
| Feature | T3 Code | AgentVera |
|---|---|---|
| Platforms | Desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux (Homebrew, winget, Scoop, .deb, AUR, Nix); a web app; iOS and Android apps that connect to a computer running T3 Code. | macOS, Windows and Linux desktop app. |
| Supported agents | Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, Grok Build, OpenCode, Google Antigravity, Pi and fx, plus agents from the ACP Registry; each needs its own install and login. | 18 CLI coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot, Cursor Agent, opencode, Amp and Aider, plus plain terminals. Each uses its own CLI install and login. |
| Open source / license | Open source, MIT. | Closed source. |
| Pricing model | Free, with no paid tier. T3 Connect links up to three machines for free; a paid T3 Chat plan raises that to 10 or 100. | Free plan with unlimited agents; Pro and Team plans are paid. |
| Git worktrees | Yes. Each thread writes to its own branch, new threads can start in a new worktree by default, and Work on PR prepares a worktree from a pull request’s branch. | Yes. Create a worktree per task from the Git panel and start an agent in it; night-shift tasks get their own worktree. You are warned when two agents edit the same file. |
| Kanban | not confirmed | Team kanban shared across your organization; hand a card to Claude, Codex or another agent and the reply lands on the card (Pro and Team). |
| Flows and pipelines between agents | Switch provider or model in the middle of a thread and the conversation is handed over; we did not find pipelines between agents on its pages. | Flows pass one agent’s output to the next; a team view of open agents led by a manager; a parallel team that ends in one PR; staged task line; night shift (Pro and Team). |
| Acceptance checks | not confirmed | Verify extracts acceptance criteria from your request and a separate read-only verifier checks each one after the agent’s turn; automatic code review. |
| Database manager / SSH | not confirmed | Database manager for PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB and SQLite (Pro and Team); SSH/SFTP panel; agent SSH and database access with your rules. |
| Token savings | A Usage view shows token use, cache savings, a per-model breakdown and estimated API-equivalent cost across providers. | Context profiles, automatic /compact, bundled RTK output compression, automatic per-task model routing and a project map (code graph) for agents. |
| Team features | not confirmed | Organizations, team kanban, client boards, AgentVera Runner on your own server, automatic account switching. |
A dash means we could not confirm the feature on T3 Code’s own pages. It may exist or arrive later; check their site.
When to pick T3 Code
- You want a free, open-source (MIT) app with no paid tier.
- You want agents to run on a server or VPS and to drive them from a laptop, a browser or your phone through T3 Connect, LAN pairing or Tailscale.
- You prefer one chat-style interface over terminals, and want to switch provider or model in the middle of a thread.
- You use Grok Build, Google Antigravity or ACP Registry agents.
When to pick AgentVera
- You want each agent in a real terminal, with 18 CLIs (from Gemini CLI and Copilot to Amp and Aider) next to plain terminals.
- You want agents to hand work to each other: flows, a team view led by a manager, a parallel team that ends in one PR, night shift.
- You want acceptance checks (Verify) after each turn, automatic code review and a warning when two agents edit the same file.
- You want a team kanban, automatic account switching at a limit, a database manager and an SSH/SFTP panel in the same app.
Moving from T3 Code to AgentVera
- Download AgentVera and open the projects you use in T3 Code.
- Add Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent or opencode. AgentVera starts the CLIs you already installed, so your logins and subscriptions carry over.
- Worktrees from T3 Code threads are ordinary git worktrees: open them from the Git panel, or merge and remove them first.
- To follow agents away from your desk, use the AgentVera mobile app or Telegram; to run them on a server, install AgentVera Runner there.
Questions
Is T3 Code free?
Yes. T3 Code is free and open source under MIT, and its FAQ says there is no way to pay for it; you pay your agent providers as before. AgentVera has a free plan with unlimited agents; Pro and Team are paid.
Does T3 Code have a mobile app?
Yes, for iOS and Android. The phone is a remote: the computer running T3 Code does the work and has to stay on. AgentVera also has an iOS and Android app that connects to the AgentVera on your computer.
Does T3 Code run agents in a terminal?
T3 Code drives each provider through its own integration and shows a chat-style thread; it also has a terminal. AgentVera starts each agent’s own CLI in a real terminal.
Is AgentVera open source like T3 Code?
No. AgentVera is a closed-source desktop app with a free plan. T3 Code is open source under MIT.
Can I use T3 Code and AgentVera on the same repository?
Yes. Both work on plain git branches and worktrees, so you can try AgentVera without changing your T3 Code setup.
