A free year of AgentVera Pro for open-source maintainers
Keeping an open-source project alive is mostly unpaid work, so here is a year of Pro for it. Connect your GitHub account, we check that you look after a public project that people use, and Pro starts. Still maintaining it next year? Verify again for another 12 months.
- 12 months of Pro
- Free, with everything in the Pro plan.
- Public data only
- GitHub is asked for no permissions at all.
- Renewable
- Still maintaining it? Verify again and get another 12 months.
- No card needed
- You are not asked for payment details.
Who can claim it
- You have push, maintain or admin rights on a public GitHub repository.
- The repository is not a fork, is not archived, and has at least 100 stars.
- It has been pushed to within the last 12 months, so it is still alive.
- Your AgentVera account is at least 24 hours old. Each GitHub account belongs to one AgentVera account, which holds one program year at a time, renewable every year.
How to claim it
Sign in to AgentVera
Use your normal account, or make one. If it is brand new, come back after 24 hours.
Connect GitHub
Sign in with GitHub on the programs page. It asks for no permissions, so there is nothing to approve beyond who you are.
We check your repositories
We look at your public repositories for one that meets the rules above. We read public data only.
Pro starts right away
If one qualifies, your 12 months begin at once.
Renewing
We e-mail you 14 days before your year ends. In the last 30 days you can verify again, and if you still maintain a qualifying repository another 12 months are added.
Questions
What does the GitHub check see?
Only what anyone can see on GitHub: your public repositories, their star counts and your role in them. GitHub is asked for no permissions, so we cannot read private code, and we never keep the token it gives us.
Does my repository have to be in my own account?
No. A repository in an organization counts, as long as you have push, maintain or admin rights on it and it meets the other rules.
My project has 80 stars. Can I still apply?
Not yet. The bar is 100 stars, and it keeps the program for projects with real users. Come back when you cross it.
I already pay for Pro. Can I still claim?
Not while a paid subscription runs (a free trial counts too): the free year is not added on top of a paid period. Cancel your subscription, keep Pro until the period you paid for ends, then claim your year.
What happens after the 12 months?
If you do nothing, your account goes back to the free plan and your projects stay where they are. If you still maintain a qualifying repository, verify again in the last 30 days.
Why does my account need to be 24 hours old?
It is a simple guard against accounts made only to claim and resell. If yours is new, wait a day and try again.
