Diri, by Cristian Crețu and contributors, is a free, native app for running coding agents in parallel, open source under AGPL-3.0, with about 480 stars on GitHub as of November 2026. It runs Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini and 17 other terminal agents, plus plain shells, each in a real terminal, and its sidebar shows which sessions are working, which need you and which are done. Any agent can get its own git worktree, a Review panel collects every change, and a built-in MCP server lets agents start and coordinate other agents. Each session is owned by its own process, so agents keep running after you close the app, and Diri can also run them on your own servers over SSH. It is built in Rust with GPUI and runs on macOS 15 or later, with Linux and iPhone betas; version 0.11.1 came out on 2 November 2026, and a Windows build is in progress. AgentVera runs agent CLIs in real terminals side by side on macOS, Windows and Linux, and adds flows, acceptance checks and team tools. Below is how they differ and where Diri is the better fit.

| Feature | Diri | AgentVera |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Platforms | macOS 15 or later, one universal app for Apple silicon and Intel, from a DMG or Homebrew. A Linux beta runs on Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 (x86_64 and arm64, AppImage and .deb), and an iPhone companion in beta, with no App Store release, controls the sessions on the Mac over Tailscale. Its roadmap lists a native Windows build as in progress. | macOS, Windows and Linux desktop app. |
| Supported agents | 21 terminal agents plus a plain shell, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Copilot CLI, OpenCode, Amp and Aider among them, each in its own terminal; you can add others with a JSON manifest. Claude Code and Codex get the deepest status and resume support. | 18 CLI coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot, Cursor Agent, opencode, Amp and Aider, plus plain terminals. Each uses its own CLI install and login. |
| Open source / license | Open source, AGPL-3.0. | Closed source. |
| Pricing model | Free, with no Diri account; agents use the CLIs and logins already on your machine. | Free plan with unlimited agents; Pro and Team plans are paid. |
| Git worktrees | Yes, optional. An agent can create a worktree through Diri’s tools, a recipe can start in a fresh one, or the dirijor CLI creates one; a Review panel shows the diff, stages, commits and follows pull request checks. | Yes. Create a worktree per task from the Git panel and start an agent in it; night-shift tasks get their own worktree. You are warned when two agents edit the same file. |
| Kanban | Not confirmed on their own pages | Team kanban shared across your organization; hand a card to Claude, Codex or another agent and the reply lands on the card (Pro and Team). |
| Flows and pipelines between agents | Through its built-in MCP server a lead agent starts helpers in their own worktrees, hands them tracked tasks, waits for results, reads each diff and merges the good ones; schedules start an agent with a prompt at a set time. | Flows pass one agent’s output to the next; a team view of open agents led by a manager; a parallel team that ends in one PR; staged task line; night shift (Pro and Team). |
| Acceptance checks | Not confirmed on their own pages | Verify extracts acceptance criteria from your request and a separate read-only verifier checks each one after the agent’s turn; automatic code review. |
| Database manager / SSH | Runs agents on your own servers over SSH, with no tmux, sudo or service needed on the host. We did not find a database manager. | Database manager for PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB and SQLite (Pro and Team); SSH/SFTP panel; agent SSH and database access with your rules. |
| Token savings | Not confirmed on their own pages | Context profiles, automatic /compact, bundled RTK output compression, automatic per-task model routing and a project map (code graph) for agents. |
| Team features | Not confirmed on their own pages | Organizations, team kanban, client boards, AgentVera Runner on your own server, automatic account switching. |

**When to pick Diri:**

- You want a free, open-source (AGPL-3.0) native app built in Rust with GPUI, with no Diri account and no hosted relay.
- You want sessions that survive almost anything: each terminal has its own holder process, so agents keep running when you quit the app or its Engine restarts or updates.
- You run many agents at once and want one sidebar that marks each as working, needing you or done, with notifications you can answer from the banner.
- You want a lead agent to start helpers in their own worktrees through a local MCP server, or agents on your own servers over SSH with no tmux or sudo.

**When to pick AgentVera:**

- You work on Windows: AgentVera runs natively on macOS, Windows and Linux, while Diri’s Windows build has not shipped yet.
- You want flows that pass one agent’s output to the next, a team view led by a manager, a parallel team that ends in one PR, and night shift.
- You want acceptance checks (Verify) after each turn, automatic code review and a warning when two agents edit the same file.
- You want a team kanban, organizations, automatic account switching, a database manager and an SSH/SFTP panel in the same app.

**Moving from Diri to AgentVera:**

1. Download AgentVera and open the repositories you use in Diri.
2. Add Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent, Gemini CLI or opencode. AgentVera starts the CLIs you already installed, so your logins and subscriptions carry over.
3. Diri worktrees are ordinary git worktrees: open them from the Git panel, or commit and merge them first. Claude Code conversations stay in ~/.claude/projects, so you can continue them in AgentVera.
4. To follow agents away from your desk, use the AgentVera mobile app or Telegram; to keep them running on a server, install AgentVera Runner there.

- **Is Diri free?** Yes. The app is free and needs no Diri account; agents use your own CLIs and plans. AgentVera has a free plan with unlimited agents; Pro and Team are paid.
- **Is Diri open source?** Yes, under AGPL-3.0; its GitHub repository had about 480 stars as of November 2026. AgentVera is closed source.
- **Does Diri run on Windows or Linux?** Diri runs on macOS 15 or later, and a Linux beta runs on Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04. Its roadmap lists a native Windows build as in progress, but no Windows release has shipped yet. AgentVera runs on macOS, Windows and Linux.
- **Which languages is Diri in?** Its source code has interface translations for English, Spanish and Simplified Chinese. AgentVera’s interface is in seven languages: English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Russian.
- **Can I use Diri and AgentVera on the same repository?** Yes. Both work on plain git branches and worktrees, so you can try AgentVera without changing your Diri setup.
